Notably, 11 out of 16 revenue categories saw increases compared to the same period last year.

These included foreign-invested enterprises, the non-state sector, personal income tax, environmental protection tax, various fees and charges, vehicle registration fees, non-agricultural land use tax, agricultural land use tax, land lease payments, lottery revenue, and other budget contributions.

This strong performance is attributed to accelerated production and increased revenues among businesses in early 2025.

Many firms also invested in new machinery and equipment, boosting productivity. A vibrant real estate market has further contributed to personal income tax collections.

The Tax Department has implemented various measures to assist businesses in electronic tax filing and payment, urged timely land rental payments and stepped up public outreach to improve understanding and compliance with tax regulations.

Nearly 43,000 tax refunds processed automatically in one week

Vietnam’s tax authorities officially launched an automated system for personal income tax refunds nationwide from April 3, 2025, applicable to the 2024 tax finalisation period. Within just seven days, the system processed 42,881 refund cases, totalling 229.3 billion VND (8.91 million USD).

Tax revenue from e-commerce surges

According to the department, 130 foreign suppliers, including Google and Facebook, have registered, declared, and paid taxes through the electronic tax portal for foreign providers, contributing a total of 2.91 trillion VND (114 million USD).
