This year event lured nearly 150 athletes from Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong City and many provinces of Quang Tri, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tien Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thua Thien Hue and the Army delegation.

The athletes competed in 5 events of Men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

This was an important tournament in the system of domestic badminton tournaments, gathering many excellent national and international players such as: Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Tien Minh, Vu Thi Trang, Than Van Anh, Pham Van Hai.

Bac Giang delegation had 16 athletes (7 men, 9 women) participating in all events. After many efforts at the tournament, they won 1 gold medal in mixed doubles (Pham Van Hai - Than Van Anh); 1 silver medal in women's singles (Tran Thi Phuong Thuy) and 1 bronze medal in women's doubles (Vu Thi Hoa - Tran Thi Thuy Cai).

Bac Giang delegation ranked third overall after Hanoi with 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals and Ho Chi Minh City with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals.
