Bac Ninh leader visits Luc Ngan lychee region to boost processing and consumption links
BAC NINH – Vuong Quoc Tuan, Deputy Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) on July 5 visited Luc Ngan district to survey local lychee cooperatives and discuss plans for a high-tech agricultural processing zone.
During the visit, the PPC Chairman witnessed a signing ceremony between lychee cooperatives and enterprises operating in industrial parks to supply fresh lychees for workers' meals and corporate gifts.

According to PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh, local officials reported that the province has produced about 210,000 tonnes of lychees this year, of which over 170,000 tonnes have already been sold at stable prices.
Despite positive results, he acknowledged remaining limitations in marketing, branding, and value-added processing of the specialty fruit.

At the event, numerous companies signed procurement agreements after visiting and tasting lychees at the orchard.
Foxconn committed to buying 30 tonnes, Welstory Vietnam 11 tonnes, Crystal Martin 10 tonnes, Luxshare Vietnam 10 tonnes, Fushan Vietnam 10 tonnes, and New Wing Interconnect Technology 1.5 tonnes, totalling 100 tonnes.

Previously, industrial park enterprises had already purchased over 100 tonnes of lychees for workers’ meals and appreciation gifts.
Many businesses expressed intentions to expand procurement in coming seasons and requested local authorities to facilitate connections with cooperatives.

The PPC Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan extended his gratitude to businesses for their support in lychee consumption, emphasising that enjoying Luc Ngan lychees – a provincial pride – fosters appreciation for local agricultural products. He said businesses’ positive evaluations and procurement contracts help stabilise incomes for farmers.
The provincial leader urged companies to continue accompanying farmers in building closed production-processing-consumption chains. He called on processing enterprises to assist growers in improving product quality and diversifying processed lychee products to increase value-added returns.

For cooperatives, Tuan emphasised the need to innovate market approaches and proactively enhance product standards to secure stronger domestic and export market positions.
He underlined Bac Ninh’s potential in agriculture, stating that developing a high-tech agricultural processing zone in Phuong Son ward, Chu ward, and Luc Ngan commune is essential.
Plans include synchronised strategic traffic connections and forming industrial clusters specialising in high-value agricultural production and processing.

The province also plans to establish a deep-processing agricultural industrial park, incorporating research centres and machinery production facilities to support high-tech agricultural processing, forming a specialised agro-industrial ecosystem.
On this occasion, provincial leaders, sectoral departments, and local authorities witnessed the signing ceremony of lychee procurement agreements between industrial park enterprises and local cooperatives.
