The index, now in its third year, evaluates innovation capacity and performance across provinces. Bac Ninh scored 48.76 points, climbing several places from previous years.

Hanoi remained the national leader, followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Thua Thien-Hue. In 2024, Bac Giang ranked 10th and Bac Ninh 11th.

As part of the National Innovation and Startup Festival, Bac Ninh’s Department of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the National Innovation Center.

The partnership aims to share expertise, develop local innovation ecosystems, establish innovation hubs in the province, and connect domestic and foreign investors with local startups. It also seeks to propose and promote policies to accelerate innovation activities.

The department has also collected applications for the 2025 Bac Ninh Innovation Startup Contest, with 130 projects and ideas submitted before September 30.
