The following is his full Lunar New Year message.

"Dear compatriots, comrades and soldiers nationwide and overseas Vietnamese!

A new spring – the spring of the Year of the Snake – has arrived, bringing with it joy, hope and good dreams.

In this sacred moment of change to a new year, on behalf of Party and State leaders, I sincerely extend my best New Year greetings to all compatriots, comrades and soldiers nationwide, as well as Vietnamese abroad.

I would also like to send my New Year wishes of peace, happiness, friendship and development to all friends and people from countries around the world.

In the past year, we have experienced numerous “huge waves and strong winds” but also recorded many proud achievements. Amidst difficulties and challenges, our country’s solidarity, benevolence, compatriotism and spirit to rise up have been strongly affirmed.

The whole Party, people and armed forces strived to fulfil and surpass all 15 socio-economic development targets, with Vietnam’s economic growth among the fastest in the world.

The people’s standards of living have constantly improved. The socio-political situation was stable, and defence and security were enhanced, while foreign relations were expanded, with high appreciation from international friends.

All Vietnamese people, at home or abroad, from workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and intellectuals to soldiers in border areas and remote islands, have the right to be proud of their contributions to the motherland’s common accomplishments.

2025 will be a year full of significant events for the nation, a year of acceleration and breakthrough, laying the foundation for the country to enter a new era – the era of the nation’s rise towards strong development and prosperity, where the Party’s wishes coincide with the people’s hearts on the goal of national prosperity.

Although numerous difficulties and challenges remain, Vietnam will always move forward and nothing can stop our nation’s aspirations to rise up and its bright future.

The entire Party, people and armed forces will continue to unite and join hands, uphold the spirit of self-reliance, confidence and national pride, make use of all opportunities, overcome all difficulties and challenges to achieve development breakthroughs and build a wealthy, strong, democratic, just and civilised Vietnamese nation, where all citizens enjoy a well-off, free and happy life, and making more and more contributions to peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

In the atmosphere of association between heaven and earth, human affection, and joy for a new year, I once again wish all compatriots, comrades and soldiers nationwide and Vietnamese abroad a new year of good health and prosperity. In a new year, we will certainly achieve multiple new victories.
