According to the provincial Department of Health, 11 out of 17 public medical facilities in the province have been equipped servers to launch e-medical records while the others will finish bidding process to supplement servers in June 2025.

All of them are provided device systems, ipad, printers, injection trolleys, QR code generators, information lookup and automatic doctor registration screens.

The province has bought and registered with the Government Cipher Committee to provide nearly 4,200 digital signatures for medical staff.

Currently, all of the 17 public healthcare facilities have launched or piloted e-medical records, 5 of which have been evaluated and officially implemented the system.

The medical centers of Luc Nam and Tan Yen districts are scheduled to host meetings of the evaluation council for implementation of electronic medical records on May 23 and 24. Other centers will complete and launch the system from June to August 2025.

Regarding data connectivity with Bach Mai hospital, the Department of Health has completed accounts issuance and established connectivity for 100% of public medical facilities as well as private hospitals and clinics.

At the working session, representatives from several healthcare facilities mentioned some obstacles in preparing budget estimates for approval by competent authorities, delays in centralized authentication of specialized digital signatures with the server of the Government Cipher Committee and difficulties in health insurance reimbursement for medical services using image storage and transmission systems instead of printed films.

The participants also proposed some solutions to remove the mentioned obstacles.

Concluding the working session, permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son highly spoke on the efforts and determination of the departments and units in implementing electronic medical records.

Besides, he assigned the provincial Public Security Department, Department of Health and the Social Security Region 11 to coordinate, study and apply relevant regulations to resolve the existing problems.

He also requested the Department of Health to promptly advise the provincial People's Committee to issue an official document proposing the Ministry of Health to address difficulties and obstacles related to standards and norms for IT equipment in order to ensure implementation of electronic medical records as scheduled.
