13 projects have completed investment procedures, site clearance and construction while the remaining projects are in preparation stages. The 110 kV Bac Lung transmission line and substation project was energised on May 15, 2025.

Two more projects are expected to be energised in July, namely the installation of the second circuit for the 220 kV Bac Giang – Lang Son transmission line and the 110 kV Song Khe 2 substation and branch line.

In August, two additional projects will go live: the upgrade of the 110 kV Bac Giang – Lang Son transmission line and the capacity expansion of transformer T1 at the 110 kV Song Cau substation from 40 MVA to 63 MVA.

Provincial authorities have prioritised and supported the acceleration of these electricity projects. Many investors have focused efforts on completing legal procedures and land clearance. However, progress remains slower than targeted.

To expedite the projects, the Department of Industry and Trade has requested the provincial People’s Committee to direct relevant commune and ward authorities to intensify public communication, build consensus among residents and resolve land clearance obstacles.

Project investors were also urged to proactively coordinate with departments and localities to promptly report and resolve difficulties as well as finalise investment approval dossiers for submission to the Department of Finance.

Bac Giang ensures sufficient power supply for production and daily life

Additionally, the national electricity demand is expected to grow by up to 12.2% (compared to a 10.1% increase in 2024 against 2023), posing a high risk of power supply disruptions during peak hours.

Samsung breaks ground on rooftop solar power project at Bac Ninh factory

On April 24, Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) officially broke ground on a rooftop solar power project at its SEV factory located in the Yen Phong Industrial Park, in the northern province of Bac Ninh. The project is expected to generate 2.59 million kWh of clean electricity annually.

PM approves adjusted national power development plan for 2021-2030

The key objective is to ensure sufficient electricity for national socio-economic development toward an average GDP growth rate of around 10% per annum during 2026–2030, and approximately 7.5% per annum for 2031–2050.

 

Bac Giang accelerates construction of high-voltage power grid projects

BAC GIANG – The northern province of Bac Giang is currently the focus of investment by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and industrial park infrastructure developers, with 26 high-voltage power grid projects underway to support the province’s rapidly growing industrial production.
