This conference is one of the contents to implement the memorandum of understanding (MOU) on boosting exploitation of Vietnam-China freight railway route signed by Vietnam’s Import and Export Department and Guangxi Department of Commerce in December 2024.

At the conference, the participants were briefed on socio-economic situation of the province last year and the first 2 months in 2025. Particularly, the province continued to gain high economic results in the first 2 months.

To date, the province has established 16 industrial parks (IPs) with a total area of over 3,600 hectares and 55 industrial clusters totaled 2,300 hectares.

Bac Giang province is targeted to reached 13.6 percent of economic growth in 2025. Besides, it will strive to reach 67 billion USD of import and export turnover, up 16.5 percent compared to 2024.

In order to develop logistics service, Bac Giang has implemented the infrastructure and warehouse project of the international logistics center in Bac Giang city covering an area of more than 66.69 hectares.

Besides, Kep rail station (in Lang Giang district) has been permitted to exploit international freight transportation services.

Speaking at the event, Vice Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade La Van Nam expected Guangxi province to facilitate customs clearances for Bac Giang’s commodities, especially in coming lychee season.

Besides, it was requested to promote economic and cultural exchanges and provide forums for businesses and traders to seek partners and sign cooperation contracts.

At the conference, representatives of some enterprises mentioned some shortcomings in use of railway transportation services.

The recommendations and opinions of the enterprises at the conference were highly appreciated by leaders of Bac Giang Department of Industry and trade, Guangxi Department of Commerce and Vietnam’s Import and Export Department, which were promised to be solved in earliest time to help enterprises to effectively exploit railway transportation services and reduce production costs.

Vice Director Guangxi Department of Commerce Li JianLiang stressed Guangxi province will give optimum condition for commodities from Vietnam and Bac Giang province to enter China through its border gate.

For years, Guangxi has provided special mechanism for lychee. In coming time, this department will continue to connect Chinese and Vietnamese businesses to seek cooperation and investment opportunities.

According to the representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation (the owner of Kep station), they will work with each company, which has demand for railway transportation, especially those investing in the province.
