Vietnam and Cuba have issued a joint statement on strengthening the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the new period.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam To Lam was decorated with the Order of Jose Marti, the highest honour of the Cuban Party and State, at a ceremony chaired by First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez in Havana on September 26 (local time).

Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President To Lam, his wife, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived at Jose Marti International Airport in Havana on Wednesday evening (local time), beginning a state visit to Cuba.

The traditional solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba is a valuable legacy, highly cherished by the Party, State, and people of both countries. This relationship continues to flourish across all channels. Cuba's top leadership has affirmed that Vietnam is a “strategic ally” and “the most trusted international partner.” 

Director General of the Cuban News Agency (ACN) Edda Diz Garcés has expressed confidence that General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam will continue to uphold unity and solidarity and successfully implement the goals and tasks set by the 13th National Party Congress.
