Vietnam Airlines will add more than 100,000 seats during the busy National Day travel period, raising the total to 600,000 seats on close to 2,900 flights between August 29 and September 3.

The figure represents a significant increase from the same period last year.

Domestically, the airline is ramping up frequency on key routes connecting Hanoi with Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Da Lat, and Hue, offering almost 418,000 seats on over 2,100 flights, a year-on-year rise of 30%.

International capacity will also be boosted, particularly on services linking Vietnam with India, China, Thailand, and Australia. Nearly 177,000 seats will be available on more than 760 international flights, up 18% compared to 2024.

Passengers booking tickets on August 19, September 1, and September 2 will receive an e-voucher valued at 290,000 VND (11.04 USD) for Premium Economy and 198,000 VND for Flexible Economy tickets.

These vouchers apply to tickets issued between August 19 and November 30, with travel dates from August 19, 2025, to February 28, 2026, across all domestic routes.

Hanoi offers a range of attractive tourism products for major national holidays

The capital city of Hanoi is preparing for a peak domestic tourism season to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – 2025). The municipal Department of Tourism has officially announced a series of new tourism products, including tours that promise visitors unique, first-time experiences.

The volunteers will be in charge of guiding delegates, distributing essential supplies at Ba Dinh Square’s grandstand area, supporting citizens along parade routes, managing storage facilities, transporting supplies, assisting with social order and environmental protection, and helping to welcome domestic and foreign delegations.

 

Fourth full-dress joint rehearsal held in preparation for National Day parade

The parade and march featured nearly 16,000 officers and soldiers and various modern weapons and equipment, including many products researched and manufactured by Vietnam’s defence industry, such as missiles, infantry fighting vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and radar systems.

 

PM chairs national online conference on social housing development

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a national online conference on August 16 to review the implementation of social housing development targets in the first seven months of 2025 and deploy tasks for the remaining months to achieve the goal of building 100,000 social housing apartments this year; as well as implementing social housing development targets in the following years.
