Accompanying designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Director Do Bao Ngoc, employed the language of stagecraft, lighting, and movement to narrate a story of Vietnamese culture, allowing the collection “The Essence of Vietnamese Silk” to resonate with international spectators.

Crafted on premium SVF silk and enhanced by double-sided painting, printing and embroidery techniques, as well as exquisite Flora Haven silk flowers, the director used music, light, and stage composition to highlight every detail.

Audiences were not only drawn to the beauty of the ‘Ao dai’ but also felt the cultural depth embedded in each fold of silk and every curve of its form.

The moment international models swept across the stage in Vietnamese ‘Ao dai’ in California created a lasting impression. It was no longer a conventional fashion showcase, but a defining instance where the ‘Ao dai’ stepped onto the global stage with its authentic Vietnamese identity.

Director Do Bao Ngoc expressed his pride, stating: “The world may have names for every type of dress, but when it comes to the ‘Ao dai’, they must use the original Vietnamese word.”

Though the “Taste of Viet Nam × VNARP 10 Years” event has drawn to a close, the image of the Vietnamese ‘Ao dai’ and the creative team’s signature touch remain a striking highlight within the series of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the Do Trinh Hoai Nam Ao Dai brand.
