In order to tighten tax management over retail businesses, in implementation of the Law on tax administration and some related Governmental Decrees, the Taxation Department of Bac Giang province has launched use of e-invoices generated from cash registers since late 2022.

To date, the province has 1,156 business households applying e-invoices generated from cash registers, reaching 95 percent of the total mandatory businesses, an increase of over 1,000 cases compared to the end of last year. Especially, many petroleum stores have also applied e-invoices.

“I came to the petroleum store of Tan Dat general service company limited to buy gasoline for my car twice in November. This store immediately generated e-invoices for me no mater how much I bought”, said Vu Thi Giang in Lien Son village, Tan Dinh commune, Lang Giang district.

Besides, retail centers of goods also apply this type of invoice. For example, Co.opmart supermarket in Bac Giang city has generated millions of e-invoices since early this year.

In fact, high tax revenue will help to increase resources for the province to invest in construction of infrastructure to stimulate local socio-economic development.

Thus, in order to contribute to increasing budget revenue, implementing the request of the Ministry of Finance, the provincial People’s Committee issued a dispatch in April to launch e-invoices generated from cash registers in the entire province.

Accordingly, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee ordered the Taxation Department to launch use of e-invoices generated from cash registers to every firm and business household while closely collaborating with competent agencies to recommend the provincial People’s Committee solutions for effective implementation.

The provincial Departments of Finance, Industry and Trade, Public Security and Market Management were requested to work with the Taxation Department to strengthen tax administration, especially use of e-invoices generated from cash registers for mandatory cases in accordance with regulations.

According to Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Director of the provincial Taxation Department, this unit has requested regional taxation sub-departments to concentrate on inspecting firms and business households belonging to the retail group to implement as regulated.

Besides, the provincial Taxation Department set specific targets for each division and regional taxation sub-department, taxation team and taxation officer while instructing, supporting and boosting tax payers to follow the plans.

Especially, the provincial Taxation Department has collaborated with software suppliers to support installing equipment to connect and transfer invoice data to tax authorities.

However, some jewelry stores in the province were detected not to strictly implement generation of e-invoices for customers although they had been equipped with e-invoices generated from cash registers.

In order to improve efficiency of tax administration, the Taxation Department was urged to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations.

In addition, it is necessary to continue to better communication for citizens to actively take invoices when purchasing goods to protect consumers’ benefits and prevent budget revenue leakage.
