Bac Ninh promotes trade and investment cooperation in China’s Shandong province
BAC NINH - A delegation from northern Bac Ninh province, including representatives from the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Construction and several enterprises, has joined a Vietnam - China trade and investment promotion programme in Dezhou city, Shandong province. The event was organized with coordination from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade.
At the programme, the Bac Ninh delegation introduced and promoted the province’s key agricultural products, processed foods, logistics services and industrial real estate projects to Chinese businesses and partners in Shandong.

Speaking at a session featuring Vietnam’s signature products, Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of Bac Ninh’s Department of Industry and Trade, highlighted the province’s socio-economic potential and development advantages.
Bac Ninh holds a strategic geographical position, with a well-developed transport infrastructure and a strong base in high-tech industries. The province has become a dynamic economic hub within the Hanoi Capital Region and the Red River Delta.
In recent years, Bac Ninh has emerged as one of Vietnam’s new growth poles, offering vast development potential. Under the master plan for 2021–2030 with a vision to 2050, the province is expected to develop 50 industrial parks covering more than 15,000 hectares. By 2025, its total import-export turnover is forecast to exceed 170 billion USD, ranking second nationwide.
One of Bac Ninh’s most ambitious infrastructure projects - the Gia Binh International Airport - is being developed to meet five-star international standards and is scheduled to open by the end of 2026. The airport is expected to serve as a key driver for logistics, tourism and real estate growth in the province.
In addition to its industrial strength, Bac Ninh is known for its agricultural products, traditional culture and tourism potential. Agriculture remains a key pillar of the provincial economy, with hundreds of unique local products. Among them, lychees are a major export, with large volumes shipped annually to China and over 30 other countries and territories worldwide.
Tuan noted that Shandong is one of China’s most economically developed provinces, playing a vital role in advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture and international services. It is also home to many cultural landmarks and a distinctive culinary tradition.

He expressed Bac Ninh’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Shandong across multiple sectors, particularly in trade and economic development. He proposed boosting two-way trade in agricultural specialties between the two localities, with a focus on Bac Ninh’s lychee exports during the 2026 harvest season.
The goal, he said, is to enable Bac Ninh to participate more deeply in the global value and supply chains in which Shandong plays a key role.
Bac Ninh pledged to maintain an open, transparent investment environment and to actively support enterprises from Shandong, especially those from Dezhou in exploring business opportunities, investment toward long-term cooperation in the province.
