The Department of Customs reported on December 9 that State budget revenue from import–export activities in the first 11 months of this year reached 420.63 trillion VND (15.95 billion USD), equivalent to 102.3% of the annual estimate and 89.5% of the sector’s target.

State budget revenue from import–export activities in the first 11 months of this year reaches 420.63 trillion VND (15.95 billion USD), up 9% year-on-year.

The figure represents a 9% year-on-year rise, or an increase of 34.6 trillion VND.

However, budget revenue from import–export activities in November stood at only 39.11 trillion VND, down 9.6% from October, a decrease of 4.14 trillion VND.

The department attributed the decline to a fall in the value of import–export goods, which totalled 77.09 billion USD in November, down 5.4% month on month, or 4.4 billion USD.

Statistics showed that total import–export value in the January–November period reached 839.78 billion USD, an increase of 17.2% year on year, or 123.41 billion USD.

Of this, import–export turnover of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises amounted to 607.7 billion USD, up 25.5% from the same period last year.

The Department of Customs also noted that smuggling, trade fraud and illegal cross-border transport of goods remain complicated.

Notable violations involve the illicit transport of gold, currency and branded mobile phones across borders, as well as the transit of counterfeit goods from China through Vietnam to Laos and Cambodia, which are concentrated along northern border provinces, particularly at Huu Nghi border gate, along the southern border with Cambodia, and via air routes through Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat international airports.

Meanwhile, illegal transit and re-export activities involving counterfeit goods and products infringing intellectual property rights continue to occur, particularly at border gates with China, Laos and Cambodia.

From October 15 to November 14, 2025, customs authorities detected and handled 2,176 violations, an increase of 510 cases or 30.6% year on year.

The estimated value of confiscated goods reached 2.2 trillion VND, while contributions to the State budget from these enforcement activities totalled 238.4 billion VND.

State budget collection tops 71.2 billion USD in nine months

The state budget revenue in the first nine months of the year is estimated at over 1.88 quadrillion VND (71.2 billion USD), equal to 96% of the annual target and up 27.9% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

 

State budget revenue from import-export activities up 9.1% in seven months

Vietnam’s state budget revenue from import-export activities reached over 261.37 trillion (9.97 billion USD) in the first seven months of 2025, equivalent to 63.6% of the annual estimate and 55.6% of the targeted goal, marking a 9.1% increase year-on-year, the Department of Customs reported.

 

State budget collection up 24.5% in first five months

Total state budget collection in the first five months of 2025 was estimated to reach 1,139 trillion VND (43.76 billion USD), equivalent to 57.9% of the yearly estimate, representing a year-on-year rise of almost 24.5%, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

 

State budget revenue surges, nears 30% of annual target

Vietnam’s state budget revenue had reached 574.4 trillion VND (22.5 billion USD) as of March 11, surging 38.2% year-on-year and achieving 29.2% of the annual target, the Ministry of Finance reported.
