State-level rehearsal for grand ceremony commemorating 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification
A state-level preliminary rehearsal for the grand ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025) was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 25.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications, Education and Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Trong Nghia chaired the rehearsal.

The event was also attended by Politburo members: Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang; and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
The preliminary rehearsal included: performances for the art programme; the official rituals of Party and State leaders; and the military parade and mass procession.
Despite the rain, a large number of citizens came to the city centre to watch and cheer on the units participating in the rehearsal in preparation for the grand ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Following the rehearsal, the Central Steering Committee held a feedback session at the Thong Nhat (Reunification) Hall. The final state-level dress rehearsal will take place on April 27.
A grand artistic-political event titled “Hen uoc Bac – Nam” (North-South Promise) was held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the evening of April 22 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Hanoi will set off fireworks on the evenings of April 22 and April 27 as part of efforts to foster a festive atmosphere, boost national pride, and strengthen solidarity.
Along with units from the Vietnam People’s Army and other domestic forces, this year’s parade will include military contingents from China, Laos, and Cambodia.
A national programme with a wide range of activities will be held by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Party General Secretary To lam, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended a grand art performance programme held in Ho Chi Minh City in the evening of April 20 as part of nationwide celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025).
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid a visit to the southern province of Dong Nai on April 19 to inspect and encourage military, militia, and police forces preparing for the grand parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30).
