Vietnamese racer shines in first stage of Asian Talent Cup 2025
Young racer Nguyen Huu Tri from Honda Racing Vietnam delivered an impressive performance in the first stage of the 2025 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC), which is taking place at Chang International Circuit in Thailand.
Making his debut in this prestigious competition, Tri overcame strong rivals to secure his first points, affirming the potential of a young Vietnamese racer on the international stage.

This year's IATC consists of six racing stages, taking place alongside MotoGP events in Asia. This provides a valuable opportunity for Nguyen Huu Tri to gain experience and compete with top young racers in the region.
Right from the first day, Tri showcased confidence and composure. Despite intense competition, he maintained a stable performance, finishing 14th place and earning two crucial points on the leaderboard.
On the second day, Tri continued to push his limits, improving his fastest lap time from one minute 48.831 seconds to one minute 48.455 seconds, shaving off 0.376 seconds. This progress helped him climb to 13th place, further adding to his points tally.
The Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) is a prestigious racing series founded by Dorna Sports, the organiser of MotoGP, to identify and train young Asian motorcycle racers.
This tournament serves as a crucial stepping stone for young talents aiming to progress to higher-level competitions like Moto3, Moto2, and eventually MotoGP.
