The 14-member Bac Ninh team delivered an outstanding performance, led by weightlifters Trinh Van Vinh (65 kg) and Bui Tuan Anh (94 kg), who each captured three gold medals across all three categories — snatch, clean and jerk and total lift.

Other gold medalists included Bui Ky Su (79 kg) with two golds and Do Tu Tung (60 kg) with one gold.

The tournament, jointly organized by the Vietnam Sports Administration, the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation and the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, drew nearly 230 athletes and coaches from 24 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide.

Competitors contested in three events — snatch, clean and jerk, and total lift — across eight men’s weight classes (60kg, 65kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 94kg, 110kg, and over 110kg) and eight women’s weight classes (48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, 69kg, 77kg, 86kg, and over 86kg).

Weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh (center podium) claims an absolute victory in the 65-kg category, winning three gold medals.

As the most important national tournament for the country’s weightlifting club system, the championship serves to assess the quality of grassroots training for high-performance athletes and identify emerging talents for the national teams.

It also provides a valuable opportunity for coaches and athletes across Vietnam to exchange experiences, improve their expertise, and promote the development of the sport.
