Vietnamese boxers win Asian championship silvers
Vietnam have taken three silver medals from the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships 2024 which closed on December 11 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
With nine athletes, the Vietnamese boxers secured fights in three final matches.

Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi lost 4-1 to Fozillova Farzona of Uzbekistan in the women's 48kg categories.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran could not beat Chuthamat Raksat of the hosts in the women's 50kg, losing 0-5.
In spite of her strong efforts, Olympic participant Ha Thi Linh, failed to land a surprise against opponent Aida Abikeyeva of Kazakhstan in the women's 63kg, losing 0-5.
“We especially appreciate Chi's achievement, as she is just 19. We will build a suitable plan to improve her ability for the next tournaments," said head of the Vietnamese delegation Dam Cong Dien.
"Tran is also a good athlete. Her category is a difficult one with many strong boxers, but she could make the final. We will need more intensive support for our athletes to lift them up."
The Asian championships were held from November 28 to December 11, featuring 210 boxers from 21 countries and regions.
Vietnamese athletes secured nine golds in the first day of competitions in the Southeast Asian Age Groups Swimming Championships on December 6 in Thailand.
The 2024 Teqball World Championship officially kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4.
Vietnamese athletes won a gold medal on the first day of the biennial World Taekwondo Poomsae (performance) Championships 2024 on November 30 in Hong Kong (China).
According to Indonesian sports newspaper Bola, while teams like Indonesia and Thailand appear relaxed in their preparations for the upcoming 2024 AFF Cup 2024, Vietnam are taking the competition the most seriously.
Twenty-three countries and territories have so far registered for the Asian Police Taekwondo Championship 2024 that will be held in Vietnam in this month, according to the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Public Security Forces Sports Association, which will host the event in collaboration with the World Police Taekwondo Federation.
Vietnamese athlete Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh bagged the gold medal in the women's singles event at the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships, which wrapped up in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 24.
