Bac Giang to conduct technical opening of Dong Viet Bridge before April 30, 2025
BAC GIANG - The Dong Viet Bridge and its access roads, located in Bac Giang City, are almost completed with the project team aiming for technical traffic opening before April 30, 2025.
Construction of the Dong Viet Bridge and the access roads began in June 2022, with a total investment of nearly 1.5 trillion VND (65.1 million USD) sourced from the provincial budget and local government bonds.

The project is being carried out by a consortium of Thuan An Construction And Trading Development JSC, Trung Chinh Trading And Construction Co., Ltd., and 168 Vietnam Construction And Import-Export Investment JSC. The Bac Giang Project Management Board for Transport and Agricultural Construction serves as the project investor.
According to the design, the bridge spans more than 811 meters in length and has a deck width of 23.5 meters. The bridge stretches across the Thuong River, creating a direct connection between Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces. Once completed, it will be the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in the province.
The access roads on both sides extend nearly 7 kilometers, built to a Grade II delta road standard, with a roadbed width of 22 meters and a pavement width of 21.5 meters.
A representative from the Bac Giang Project Management Board said that the road sections are essentially complete, and contractors are now working to finalize the remaining items, including asphalt surfacing and the installation of traffic safety systems to ensure the bridge can open to traffic as scheduled.
Once completed, the Dong Viet Bridge and its access roads will not only facilitate safer and more convenient travel between Bac Giang and Hai Duong but also improve goods circulation and enhance investment attraction for the province’s industrial parks and clusters.
BAC GIANG - The Railway Project Management Board (RPMB) (Ministry of Construction) has just commenced to build Cam Ly Bridge on National Highway 37, through Luc Nam District (Bac Giang Province) and a railway overpass on Kep-Ha Long railway line. Previously, the RPMB also started constructing the expanded Xuong Giang Bridge across Thuong River on the Hanoi-Bac Giang Expressway.
BAC GIANG - The People's Committee of Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) has just organized the groundbreaking ceremony to build the bridge from Deo Gia commune to Phu Nhuan commune (in the same Luc Ngan district). The total investment cost is over 172 billion VND (about 7.3 million USD) from the central and provincial budgets.
BAC GIANG – As schedule, Ha Bac 1 Bridge connecting Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces will be constructed in 2026 and completed in 2028.
France has pledged nearly 20 billion VND (approximately 775,876 USD) in non-refundable aid for a research project on renovating Hanoi’s Long Bien bridge.
BAC GIANG - The People's Council of Bac Giang province has just issued Resolution No. 12/NQ-HDND approving the policy to assign the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province as the competent authority to implement the investment project to build Ha Bac 1 bridge and the connecting road (Project) between Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.
BAC GIANG- The Railway Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Transportation) on February 24 organised a ceremony to start the construction to expand Xuong Giang bridge and the roads to the bridge crossing the Thuong river on Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway in Bac Giang city.
